unit 70 help

can anyone offer an HONEST opinion on 70 deer?
I think I have enough points for a 3rd or 4th season tag.
Is this a good unit to burn my points on? Are there any landowners/private I should try to contact? I'm not opposed to paying a fee to hunt but I really enjoy self guided.
Looking for more than a meat hunt and hope there are some decent bucks running around.

A few years back I looked into the herd estimates and sex ratios, calculated the number of bucks that should be available, then correlated that with total buck harvest and it was some high percentage of the bucks getting killed every year. I hunted it 3rd season in 2009 and wasn't impressed and the sheds I've found were never that great either. It's definitely better on private, and a friend of mine guided a few hunters to 170+ bucks in 2015 during 2nd and 3rd season.

I agree, more of an opportunity hunt than a trophy hunt. I have seen two 180+ bucks in 23 days of archery hunting over a 3 year period.

If you want to see some of the quality of deer in unit 70 Google Bray Ranches. Robert Bray runs an outfitting business and has some of the lower stuff in 70 that is loaded with deer.
