I have a friend who inherited his house when his mom died at an early age. He got married and divorced. He wanted to keep the house so he got a loan against it and paid her her half in cash.
Along comes wife #2 and they divorce after about 10 years. He has to get another loan against the house to pay her off.
Along come wife #3, and yep, he has to borrow against his house again when they divorce.
Wife #4, who he just divorced is out of luck because he finally wised up and kept his property separated at the time they got married. I think it was her idea as she didn't want half of his debt. lol
He just turned 65 but can't retire because he owes too much on his house that he got free and clear 40 years ago.

Guns are like parachutes. If you need one and don't have one you probably will never need one again.
