Utah License Fees Increase Approved!!

The legislature approved a hike in permit fees efective 2005 as follows:

Is there any other state that charges that kind of $$$ for a resident L.E. Elk permit?

I think this state is all messed up. They are looking fore revenue in all the wrong places. If they shuffled the season dates around (for elk) they could maximize tags by allowing a ton more primitive weapon tags at 180$ and not have a significant impact on the herd. The rifle guy's would still kill their bulls but they would have to hunt a little harder. It seems crazy to charge a resident that much for an elk tag. To double the price is proving that they only care about the money. Have a great day!
