I packed out my wifes ML300 tag elk yesterday with the llamas. They were not very happy to be loaded in the horsetrailer at 4:30 in the morning and and it was bitter cold up there, clear, brisk breeze and all that new snow! We boned it out on wednesday when she got it (.58 cal./roundballs @ 92 yards) and put it up in the pine tree off the ground and it was froze solid to the tree! I had a heck of a time getting it out of the tree. We put right at 50lbs boned meat in each game bag as we boned it and got 4 gamebags off it. Being froze solid in 50lbs bowling balls!! wasn't an ideal pannier arrangement but I just loaded up 2 of the llamas with the 100 lbs each and then about 1/2 way (1 1/2 miles) out, I switched the load to the other 2 llamas giving all 4 of them a little workout with a big load. Bushwacking out was a real pain in the buttsky! Even on llamas, full panniers are fairly wide for bushwacking thru brush and trees. One more tag to fill this wknd.......good luck all
