I've owned both, first the Euros and now the new Razors. I think quality is fairly similar. In my opinion the Razors are better with better edge to edge clarity and low light transmission. There much lighter which I love and the warranty is great. The Euro HD are neck and neck in optical quality. I've had mine a year with heavy use and have been very happy with them. I'm going to be upgrading to a new pair of range finding Zeiss if your interested in buying used.
I would go with vortex. When I was glassing for sheep in low light my vortex let in more light then my buddies euro. Through his I had to squint my eyes.
If you have the chance go look through them both and see what's best for your eyes. I have the euro HD's, and absolutely love them. They are a top notch binocular. I also have the new Meopta s2 spotting scope, and it's also well worth the money.
I think that the optical clarity is VERY close... maybe a slight edge to the Euro's. You need to try them for yourself though and see which fit your hands better too. I chose the Euro's but I am sure I would have been equally happy with the Razor HD's.
I think you are getting good advice with check them both and see what your eyes like. Both are very nice. For the record, I bought the Euro HDs and love them.
Do you have any buddies that have either pair to field test them?
My dad made the mistake of buying Leupold Golden Rings and the darn things were always fogged up. Sent them and Leupold would either write him a check or buy products in equal value
