Good buddy was lucky enough to draw a Wasatch moose tag this year but it has been a slow start for us so far. Scouted over 20 days this summer and have hunted all 12 days so far this season covering a large portion of the unit with the bow trying to find the right bull. Having a great time and loving being out this time of year. Been getting distracted with the leaves changing and the views!
We have found quite a few small bulls but we haven't found anything tempting yet. Yesterday we were on the trail again well before light and we covered over 8 miles and gained and then lost over 3k in elevation. Saw 3 small bulls and 3 cows, but still not finding any mature bulls.
Hopefully guys that have been out on the LE Wasatch elk hunts, muzzy deer, and extended archery tags have/will come across a good bull and help a brother out. We are staying optimistic and hoping some bigger bulls will start showing up with the cows. Have a few more weeks and we will keep pounding it hard, but don't want to leave a stone unturned with this OIL tag. We would really appreciate any help or pointers in the form of PM's from the MM family??
Thanks, Jake
