What age can you buy points in Utah

I just found out you cant apply for hunts until 14. Can you buy points at 12???

I tried last year for my son who was 13.

I thought the legislature lowered the hunting age in Utah to 12.

So, it appears in Utah - at 12 - you can apply for general season deer and youth any bull elk. You can also buy permits over the counter.

You cannot apply for LE tags or bonus points until you are 14.

Odd. Another change is in the DWR future I am sure as the almighty dollar is at play.

Can a 12 year old put in for a tag at the hunting expo?? Can they hunt spikes??

I think a 13 year old can apply for LE hunt as long as he/she turns 14 before the the hunt they apply for begins.
