I hunt the general wasatch front faithfully. And i know personally of other groups who hunt the wasatch front back country. You two are not the only ones on the mtn. I think you should contact the individual you claim to suspect and ask him the situation. Maybe, there is more to the story than meets the eye. I dont know? just an idea. I find it unethical to leave a large sum of carcass on the mtn, however i find it strange that they would take the front shoulder and backstraps and leave the other three... Maybe this means that the individual was alone and it was not within his means to retrieve the rest at the moment of harvest? i do not know. just brain storming. That being said, One head plus a cape, plus a quarter, plus back straps, plus gear. For one or even two guys makes for close to 80 plus pound packs. now throw the top of the wasatch front, weber county, 70 plus degree weather into the equation and you may have solved the problem. i dont know the whole story at all. but seems like you do, i would give the guy a call if you know him. ask him what happened. Then let the law take it from there.
