Which camera?

Howdy all,
My wife and I are thinking about getting a new digital camera for photos of the kids etc. (and I want to use it to take some pictures of wildlife). We don't have a lot of money to spend. Right now we are considering the Canon S2 or S3 or the Panasonic DMC-FZ7. What do you think? Is one definitely superior to the other? Which takes the best quality pictures? Are there other cameras that we should be looking at? I've heard that Olympus cameras are good, but that their battery life is horrible. Is this true? Any and all responses are welcome. Thanks in advance.

That held true on OLD Olympus cameras. The SP-510 has a very good battery life. Is 7 MP and 10x zoom, with image stabilization.

I just bought the Canon A620,like the hell out of it...Don;t buy anything under a 6 pixel,not worth the money at all..........
