I shot the Mathews Q2, the drenlin LD then the helium. When I got the helium I really like the carbon element, but the guy at that shop said why pay more for a bow that weights the same as what mathews built in an aluminum riser?
After a couple years I couldn't get that Hyot out of my head because I thought it shot smoother and felt more dead in the hand. Pulled the trigger about 3 weeks ago on the Hyot Carbon Sypder Turbo and waiting for it to arrive.
I did really like my Drenlin LD and I think getting back to a slightly longer bow and still keeping it light for the backcountry will be a great thing. Also I am a 27 inch draw so to pick up an inch of power stroke with the shorter brace height will be great.
Bottom line with the CST is I'm picking up speed, getting a longer riser & axle to axle, staying light and upgrading in the sound department and feel. My shop sells the Carbon Sypder Turbo for 1,200 so while its not cheap, its not the 1,400-1,500 people throw around from time to time.
I'm excited. I was a loyal Mathews guy and still like them, but for me it was time to get serious so I got Hyot! My cousin and hunting partner was also in the market and chose the ChillR. That's a nice bow as well, but for me it felt like a big jerk into the valley. For him the ChillR felt better. He is a couple inches longer so maybe it is different on the bow he was drawing.
