I shot them in my Knight Wolverine, then switched to the Hornady XTP when I couldn't find the TC's any more. Same bullet as best I can tell. I shoot 100 grains of powder with a 300 grain bullet. Very, very accurate. Touching holes at 50 and 100 yards - same for the TC and XTP.
I've had very good luck with them on East TN whitetails. The heaviest deer was around 140 pounds. Although very accurate, I will agree with what others have said, I've recovered a couple of bullets and they weren't expanded as much as I thought they would or should be. Only about the first quarter of the bullet was peeled back.
With that said, I continue to use them. The accuracy and dead deer keep me coming back to them. But if you think about it, it starts as a 0.45" hole, it doesn't take much expansion to make a 0.6+ hole. A .270 expanding to twice it's size is just over half an inch.
Good luck and post pics!
