I slowly still hunted the draws this morning after glassing from a vantage point for my deer. No crows or magpies to be seen anywhere.
I was able to find my arrow about 150 yards from where I shot him. The tip is not bent but the blades are bent back indicating that I did hit something hard. I hit him in no mans land in the shoulder.
I thought something was different this morning when I couldn't turn up any of the smaller deer that were in the area. I found fresh atv tracks from illegal off-road up and down the draws. I found several sets of boot tracks in the bottom of the draws and I even found an illegal bait pile that placed not 100 yards where I last saw my buck.
This pressure sure has moved deer around. I believe my deer has moved to a different drainage and is laying low for a while. All I can do is keep looking.
