Thanks for all the comments. I agree that the ATV use is getting crazy. I live in Rawlins, near both the Snowy Range and Sierra Madre and I can see the land being abused and torn up by ATV's. Last year while we were hunting elk in the Sierra Madre, I shot a 5x5 about 2 miles from the nearest road. We worked for an entire day to get my elk out. The next day as I was packing out the last of the meat, I noticed 4 wheeler tracks, 2 miles from the nearest road. Come to find out, another hunter shot a cow elk the day before and went in with his 4 wheeler to get it out. There were two sets of tracks, so it must have been two 4 wheelers. I found where they had gutted the cow and saw drag marks where they dragged it out behind there 4 wheelers. All two miles from the nearest road. About two years ago, I was hunting the Huston Park Wilderness and came accross ATV tracks in the wilderness area.
As for the deer hunt, sounds like I better find another place to hunt other than around six mile. Use to hunt 82 south of Rawlins, talk about a "war zone" never seen so may hunters. I am going to stay away from that area from now on.
