Not the biggest deer I have taken by a long shot, but the biggest and toughest I have taken in California. The fist picture is of myself and my son with a 4X3 taken this week. He was double lunged at 270 yards and still managed to run over 300+ yards. When I shot him he Disappeared into the buck brush and I thought he was gone. It was pouring rain and I knew he was hit good but the rain was washing away the blood. I finally found a little blood and his tracks. After about 45 min of tracking we found him down about 300 yards away.
This is my friends 3X3 taken the next day. It is the first buck he has taken. Again not the biggest buck but not bad for a first deer. My son got skunked this trip but he has already taken a Elk last year in Colorado when he was 12 so I dont feel too bad for him. I still have a bear tag so I will get him out in the woods this weekend or next to see if we can get him his first Buck
