I finally connected on my ram! A brief description of the hunt: Five different hunting partners and a master guide, 16 days of hunting, a missed opportunity on day 12, over 45+ miles of walking, 5000 miles on my truck, and more money spent than I care to mention. I shot my ram twice off-hand at 150 yards as he was running full tilt. He died less than a foot from going over a very high cliff. I can't begin to explain the range of emotions I experienced on this hunt. I'm still physically and mentally drained two days later. Unit 286 can be like a dagger through a guy's heart. I only saw 3 rams that were older than 4 years old. Six of the 16 days I never saw a sheep. This ram will probably always be my most treasured trophy, due to the effort I had to put in to get him.

Special thanks should go out to my wonderful wife for holding down the fort with three young children, while I completed a dream. I owe her...big time!

Can anyone help me post a picture or two? I can e-mail a scanned photo to anyone who can help. Thanks!

First of all congrats on the ram!! Sheep can be ultra frustrating and tend to roam all over sometimes! I can help on the picture end as well if it is already scanned. Send it to [email protected]

Here are the two pictures that Dave sent to me for posting. Congrats to you Dave on a fine ram. What did it feed on, jerky and oatmeal? Just kidding, it's a beauty that you will remember for a long time according to the hunt story you posted here.

Congradulations Dave. That sheep hunting can wear your mind out almost as much as your feet. Very nice ram

Thanks, Brian, for posting the pictures. The ironic thing about the kill was for the other fifteen days I always hunted with a partner. The day I scored, I hunted alone. I had no tripod to take many pictures of the whole ram. I managed to get one fair picture by proping the camera on a rock. By the time my guide got to the kill site I had the sheep boned and skinned. I seem to like the fourth day of the month, as that's when I scored on my Stone.
