I am going to hunt around Darby,MT can any body tell me where to look for a respectable buck on public land. Im not a looking for a wall hanger but just something to put meat on the table?

Unless you have a special permit to hunt Mule Deer on the east side of the valley, you will have to hunt on the west side (ie West Fork of the Bitterroot).

West side of Bitterroot is by special permit only for mule deer buck as well.

That's right. It's an unlimited draw, but you still have to have that permit to hunt muley. Thanks for clearing that up. I'll be hunting 270. Can't Wait!
