Hopefully lady luck shines on us the rest of the season.

Great job guys!
Nice way to pack in/out!

Jeeze, those bucks could be brothers!!! Way to go!

At first, I thought to myself, "this guy is trying to be playoff on Deerking's name" (local legend here on the board), but now I think it's well deserved!

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

Congrats to the both of you on a great hunt. Those "packers" are great too, easier than you packing the load.

Congrats. Great job. I wa sover there over the weekend and I could not believe the number of hunters. It seesm like there are more people every year. Gett those bucks is an accomplishemt with all of that competition.

How many llamas do you have? What saddles are you using? I bought some last year and love using them. They are not as friendly as horses but a heck of a lot less work in using them. Taking care of my dog is about equal to having them. I use saddles from Wes Holmquist and like them. I tried giving them a workout with elk meat the last couple of weeks but I have to kill one first.

The Llama's were rentals and we had three on this trip. We probably could have used another as we had a lot of meat to pack out. The packs that were used were Bonny Doon packs with a nice aluminum frame and plenty of pack space. The only issue that I had with the packs was keeping them positioned correctly on steep decents.

Overall they were a lot of fun to use and they will definetly be with me on future trips to the backcountry.
