2010 UT LE elk tag #'s

Just a quick question. Will the DWR publish the 2010 tag #'s before we apply? It would be nice to know the LE quotas before the apps are due, but I don't know what the timing is like.

They decide on the number's in March after the winter herd counts are done.

If the LE harvest reports are mandatory.......

I do not see why they couldn't set 'tenative' tag numbers as we apply.

I realize that the year before is equal to any 'tenative' tag numbers so that would be best to go by.....

Got it, thanks. I figured that would be the answer, but I was hoping we'd have some numbers before applications were due.

Most of the time the year before numbers are close, but sometimes you get hosed. One of the moose units last year had permits cut almost in half. On a CWMU that goes from 2 to 1 public permits, there won't be any bonus tags.

Yeh that does happen--like Hazmat says.....

My LE unit dropped 2 tags last year and my Mrs Mnt. Goat unit dropped 2 tags too.

I wonder how many LE big bull tags will be dropped because of the Spike harvests?
