Has anyone heard whats going on with the Gov tag this year? I have not heard of anything being killed or seen anything at all. Did the tag holder kill something yet? If he hasnt killed yet then when does the hunt end.....

hasn't killed yet. He has until the 15th of this month.

More tags = less quality...Looks like the Gov. tags are going to have to settle for 380-390" in years to come.

Sounds like the wait is over, Utahns didn't have to cough up a 400 in. bull this year! I wonder how many will piss and moan over a 5x7 320 bull! I wonder how many will complain about "gang hunting" on this one! I think it's great that he hunted for 5 months and was happy with what he shot!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-14-10 AT 09:34PM (MST)[p]Thats the word I got, along with some phone pictures. Bull is a 5x7 with the pedistal off the side of his head. Bull looks like a 320ish give or take a few inches. Guy that showed me the pictures was there when he shot it.

Sounds like a cool bull.Cant wait for pics.

Sounds like a nice bull. Sure would be fun to hunt for five months. I bet he looked over hundreds or bulls.

It is a cool bull. This kid passed alot of bigger bulls but really liked this one and the score didn't matter to him. I am happy for him.

from what I've hear he could have shot some 380 to 390 bulls at various points in the month of January (the last 15 days of the hunt) and passed on them bacuase they had the potential to be much better bulls. I think that says a lot for the hunter and wish more people were like him.

Are you kidding me. Sounds like his 320 never had the chance to grow up.

If the bull was 10yrs old and 320" with a freak antler then I say great job and sound management. I agree more people should be more like him. Even if the bull was young with a freak antler and not wanting to polute the gene pool with poor genetics great decission and if the kids Dad has as much money as it sounds like then that 390"+ bull he passed up this year is likely to be 400"+ next year great choice and congradulate the hunter.

thank you! That bull looks cool. Congrat.to the hunter on taking a old freak bull out of the gene pool!

I'm hoping the Mossy Posse isn't taking much credit for this one. They can maybe take credit for finding some nice bulls that were passed but not much for the one taken. We'll see if the ones 'who were there' will give any details.

Why did Mossback have to put under the picture that he passed up a lot of bigger bulls but decided to take this 10 year old bull. Sounds like hes protecting himself by saying we tried to get him to shoot a bigger bull but dang it this kid loved the experience and shot a smaller bull but gosh he was 10 years old? Good job kid nice bull even if Mossback is back pedaling on him.

Uh-Oh I am starting to hear some wimpers on this thread, wont be long before they all start Crying.....WHHHAAAAA WWWHHHAAAA WHHHHAAAAAAAAA...... Man there are alot of Cry babys on MM anymore.

Congrats to the Kid, Mossback, and anyone else that helped with the hunt.

Maybe because it was killed on winter range of a CWMU where the Mossy Posse never goes or knows. I'm just saying they shouldn't have anything to brag about on this bull.

LOL I called it...There it is.....WHHHAAAAA WHHHHAAAAAA WHHHHHAAAAAAAA!

I knew it was comeing. HAHAHA

and in response to what you cryed about, WHO CARES WHO CARES WHO CARES!!!!!

Cool Bull and proud for him. Any one know how the young fellow did with his Wyoming Governors Tag that he picked up at the MDF event in Kemmerer? If I recall he won a nice rifle that night as well. It would be cool if he wacked one with a rifle he won at the same event.

Who cares what he ended up with as long as it's HIS decision and he's happy with it.
Sure shows his good ethics on game management when he can pass 390 bulls and take an old bull right at the end.
My hats definately off to him and the whole crew.

Who really cares who guided the young man to his BULL.Its good to see a youngster who has not been exposed to the whole "SCORE" issue .He definately passed on bigger bulls, but eventually harvested the one he liked the best.Congrats to the young hunter .Unfortunately for all the jealous assholes, this most likely wont be the last time you see him.

Again ,Congrats Young Hunter on a fantasticly Ugly Bull.

hoss, don't be stupid there was nothing wrong with what was posted under the pic of the bull, how is that "criticizeing" the kid or his bull in any way, Im sure the kid did pass on alot of bulls that were bigger, sounds like a true statement to me.

Why do you feel the need to criticize and attack Doyle for something so minor and stupid, my hell if its not one thing with you guys its another everyone is always picking at something to b!tch about doyle, "ohh he had help" "somebody else showed him this bull" "why did he put that at the bottom of the kids picture" "that spider bull is a pen raised bull" you guys will find ANY thing you can to bash him, and if its not jealousy then what is it why the fasanstion with trying to make the guy look bad, I dont get it.

It's called protecting your business. How many new guides popped up this year? How many are gonna say we could have got you a much bigger bull? Just about every single one of them. So not to mention the fact that the kid had many chances at much larger bulls would be insane and a horrible business decision. However, most of us look at comercializing "our" animals for capitalistic gain as wrong. I think most need to step back and simply realize that anything posted on this website is gonna be butchered so there's no need to get offended. That's just how a lot of the people on this site are. You just ignore them. They will always be jealous because they don't have the opportunities that others do. Its all boils down to jealousy and that's about it.

+ 1 Stinky,The fact that the 99% of us will never have that particular tag in hand ,Whos to say what we would do "IF"
I still say,Congrats Young man on an amazing Bull.

Its criticizing the kid same as it would be if under your wedding announcement it said "bob passed on much hotter, nicer women be he settled for this one", pretty much says your either stupid or dumb. Considering the pic is on a slide show of a ton of pics of huge bulls and none of the others say anything other than the hunter or the score it is just tactless to put this on this animal. Second, I don't like what and how doyle does, not jealousy, he is highly successful, but so was Heidi Fleiss. As for advertisement, he has guided the gov tag for how many years in a row? Does he need more advertisement than that? Everyone knows what the gov tag cost this kids dad, on Mossbacks web page we can figure what he charged, whether he thinks this is a good bull or not is meaningless, a prostitute doesn't judge the john, she is only interested in the money. Jealousy? I would have a hard time spending all that time and effort only to sell it. I would hope I would never see a big deer, elk, sheep, etc. and be thinking only how much I can charge for it. Yes I would love to spend more time on the mtn., who wouldn't, but not pretending I liked all the people I was selling a shot to. His buisness model is very good, he markets like a mother, pays a lot for info, more for results, and kisses butt like a mother, but no part of that I want to do in order to spend more time on the mountain, so I am jealous of the ammount of time he spends on the mtn, but I would hate to do the other 75% of his buisness. Sometimes a guy gets a reputation because he earns it.

Maybe the kid killed a big typical bull on his WYOMING Governor tag and wanted a nice non-typ from Utah to make a pair? I prefer the different looking sets of horns myself, to each his own...

haha when YOU guys get a governors tag then YOU can decide which bull YOU want! congrats to the kid!

Congrats to the hunter and the mossback team. I can't really see how people can talk about doyle and his team that way. I know a few people who have hunted with them. They have all spoken highly of them. Said they really did their scouting and it shows. I know they spend countless hours scouting areas and I give them my utmost respect. CONGRATS MOSSBACK!

after reading all this, the only well written and accurate statement was "sometimes a guy gets a reputation because he earns it." dang right. congrats to doyle and mossback. they are great!!!

The same kid had two Governor tags? Congrats to the kid on a very nice bull. Im glad to hear there are some people out there that dont just think about inches.
