my wife drew a diamond tag this year. i know the area very well i have hunted it for elk 3 times and deer ones and been on some other hunts with family and friends and we have killed some great animals.the problem i have is were i have killed all my bulls is a back pack hunt (a long long hike) that is a long ways in that i don't want to put my wife threw. i am willing to share info if u got some. I have shot 3 of the largest bulls and the biggest buck of my life on diamond.

With that being said!

Take Her back in there & see if she can Harvest one bigger than yours!

You've drew it 3 times yourself for Elk?

For GAWDS Sakes Guys,We Got Kids on this Site,Some of them are 65 years Old!:D

I don't care if they're big or small!
If they throw lead I like em all!
:p

Shoot me a PM and we can discuss. I will be there with a friend of mine for the rifle season opening on October 8th. We have hunted up there three times for deer and have a good idea of some easier spots for elk.

Who cares if he wants to take his wife to some of the easier areas? The entire unit is relatively mild country to hunt. I like it because there are enough roads to keep people occupied and the day hike areas enjoyable.

Seein your wife has killed bigger game then you. (I have seen her deer), Maybe she should post "cliffy pooh is getting old and doesn't want to go the extra mile for me".But whoever will i will go the extra mile for them. JK Brotha.Good luck!!!!

Sent you a PM. We have taken 3 off that area in the past 5 years.

Also, get out an ownership map and look at what is BLM and where the fencelines and gates run from BLM to National Forest. You can and, should cut a couple of 2 Dogs locks. The locks on any BLM access roads that have gates can be cut. Leave an envelope with $10 for the lock. Also leave a letter that says he has locked a gate that cannot be locked. A Lease of Federal Land does not give you the right to lock a public gate. If he gives you chit, tell him the BLM attorneys will be in touch with both him and the farmer leasing the land. The money is there to cover his lock. I have been aching to get another tag up there so I can do that!!

Good luck.

keep in mind the ridge above and to the east of where i killed that 340 bull last year....or the sage flats where my wife killed that mid 330 bull.... or even the burns where i killed that 325 bull.... they all hold elk and are easy in and out...
