Are there any bow units in Utah that get cool during the early bowhunt? My dad was in the Wasatch the whole hunt and never saw frost 70-80 during the days. From what I checked Salt Lake City had roughly normal temps.

I like cold, frost, occasionaly snow, can I find this normaly in any of the Utah units? I did further south in NM.

Hey Don, We hunted 7th-14th. Had ice on the quad one moring but that was it. couple afternoon hail showers and a little snow way high on the 14th.

Usually not, but this year we had light snow 3 days and the day we killed, on the Beaver Unit. We was hunting around 11,000 ft.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-26-11 AT 06:38AM (MST)[p]Honestly I prayed for hot weather! My plan was to hunt water from day one. It was very productive. Average high temp was around 92 at my water hole. The day I killed my bull it was around 90 and that was september 3rd.

This year was a little tougher to sit water because of the very wet spring and summer. That made plenty of other little seeps and such. IMO the elk ver just spread out more.

You just have to keep in mind you are putting in for an EARLY hunt!
