As far as I am concerned Boneaddict got it right on both counts. And the SMILE SHOULD BE way more important than antler/horn measurements.
This sight is labeled MONSTERMULEYS. What a "monster" is varies from person to person, and it very well should. As far as I am concerned, my kids first 24" 4x4 is way more of a trophy than anything I have ever taken, WAY MORE.
On the other hand, some sportsman like to "talk the talk" (especially about others) but can rarely "walk the walk" Did I get that backwards? Makes sense to me at least.
I think its instinct, we people tend to over exaggerate things. WHY we do it varies from person to person. Many times it may be just adreniline, many times lack of knowledge on how to judge or score an animal, yet many times, unfortunately, its to show the World (or at least MOST of the World) they have achieved something very few others have. The bigger the score, the less sportsman there is out there that have taken an animal of that caliber. To put yourself on a "pedestal" of sorts.
Achieving your OWN goal (in my OPINION) is way more important than achieving your goal for others. If you (in all sincerity) don't give a darn (or ratzazz) as they say up North' what somone else thinks of the size of your horn (or ears) Then DO NOT POST WHAT YOU THINK YOUR ANIMAL SCORES. (or the size of its ears) If they ask for a score (sometimes, on occasion, people do that) You have no reason to give it. It is really none of their business, and most of us can admire that, when combined with a polite explaination.
IF you give a score (especially on such an opinionated sight as this one) then unfortunately, you have sadly put yourself in front of the "internet firing squad"
That squad is made up of folks from all different backgrounds, experiences and agendas, but a simple explaination why you prefer not to post your score I hope, at least, would be respected by most of us.
Gosh, we live in a great country, dont we? I reserve the right NOT TO POST the scores of my forkhorn collection. Please respect that.
