Odss are the same for non as residence. So for must of the tags not good, but this year you can apply for elk antelope and sheep also.

Do you have any points? The max is five. You have a small chance of drawing any zone with zero points............and I mean SMALL chance. 10% of the tags for each unit are drawn randomly. Other than that X-1, X9B, X9C and X10 are the only units you "might" get with zero points.

In the application bookley, it tellys you how many random draw tags are available (10%), the total # of first choice tags, and # of preference tags available, and the minimum points to get a hunt.
Anyway, assuming there are more first choice applicants with more points than both you and the preference quota for a hunt, divide the number of random tags by the number of applicants minus the preference quota.

I drew G3 Goodale deer last year with 5 pt(max)-Pure luck with the 4000+ other people who tried.Now start all over again.
Got Klamath Roosevelt elk 5 years ago with 4 pts and likely tables goat with 2.
Just keep trying for your best unit and enoy the rest of the state thats open hunting.
Pig and turkey are everywhere in calif.

I did with 3(elk), 4 (lopes)!

Your right-my bad arithmetic- working on my oregon application and confusing my points.Too many states,too many species,too many points. I need a secretary.Think i'll just go over -the- counter bull in Colorago in third season.

X3B was one of the best hunts I have ever had. May Dad, Son and myself went up early and fished and scouted for 3 days. Tons of deer.
I passed on several bigger bucks trying to hold out for Mr Big, but on the last evening I ended up getting a little forky. But I can honestly say that it is one of the most memorable bucks of my life.
It just goes to prove that it's not always about the size of the buck, the all of the other circumstances that make a ture hunting trip to remember.
