Bluejay, what does deer hunting off of a CWMU have to do with this post? It is a great bull. Glad it is posted and would love to hear the story.

What you talking about Redd Ranches, I shot this bull on a OTC Bull elk tag in Wyoming. lol
Yes this is a Redd Ranches Bull elk. I did not pay a thing for the hunt, just fortunate enough to be a part of a great hunt. Problems with CWMU is that there is and always will be a few people that have accusations about them.
This was a fun hunt and regardless of what someone paid for it this is one beautiful bull elk and the hunter that killed it is one outstanding person, has lots of respect for such great animals, he has more character than I do, if I had shot this bull or if I ever shoot a bull of this caliber I would go nuts jumping up and down with excitement. The hunter had more respect for the animal and was in silence for several moments taking in the beauty of the animal and enjoying the experience.
I am just grateful to be a part of this hunt and have the memories of it too. One day short of a miracle I might be able to get me another LE elk tag and shoot a great bull. Until then I will enjoy guiding and being in the woods with these majestic animals. Nothing better than the month of september and listening to the music of bugles.

I had the archery lasal tag a couple of years ago and shot like a 290 bull. I don't know where to hunt on the public. Next time I draw I will have to scout more.

Its a hard unit to learn only because of all the private land. Ever draw again im always willing to help a guy out and point ya in the right direction. Its just a waiting game til we both get to draw again it looks like tho! Unless you want to spend some cash and hunt redds or jbs;-)
