Scouting for deer at night??

OK, this is the second time in my life that during a trip out of town I have seen the second biggest buck of my life on the side of the road at night......
Now my question for all of you, have any of you seen some monster Muleys on the side of the road on a drive and gone back and started scouting this area and end up hunting there for the buck? ALso what are the odds of seeing this buck at night and then scouting this area and finding him. I was thinking of going up there and looking for some heavly used trails and putting a trail camera up there to see if I might be able to get him on film. If anyone has some advice at what I should do next? I wrote down the mile marker where I saw him and I want to take the next step in finding him. Of course I won't be able to hunt him until next year but I will start scouting now.

We saw a huge buck in the Kaibab in 1991 driving at night and went back the next day and shot the buck less than a mile from where we saw him cross the road. We did the exact same thing with a big elk in unit 3C also. I'm not sure about finding him next year but I certainly would start somewhere close to where you saw him. We've watched coues deer for a couple years and ended up shooting them once we drew a tag. There's hope!
