Elk Ridge Rifle Hunt

First post to Monster Muleys, but I have been lurking and enjoying for a while. Great site.

I finally drew the Elk Ridge rifle hunt after 8-10 years of trying. Really excited to get back down there to hunt, as I used to hunt there 20 years ago. My buddy's dad grew up in Blanding and used to take us out to places like Dark Canyon, Bears Ears, Long Canyon, etc.

The hunt begins in early October. I am curious if anyone has info on migration routes and at what elevations to expect to find the herds depending on the weather.

Any suggestions on where to concentrate in the unit would be much appreciated. My San Juan County 4-point I had mounted on the cabin wall was stolen a few weeks ago and I really would like to replace it with a new buck.

Thanks,
Dave

Check the posts from BLACK PREDATOR or Blanding Boy. I guess they would probably be to whom they're refering too. I am guessing myself. Plenty of area out there. Start at Beef Basin / Horse Mountain areas and work backwards. Take gas/water/tools/spare tires.
