Wyoming area 56 Elk Type 1

Wyoming Elk area 56 type 1 tag. This area appears to have a big section of wilderness. I have a couple questions about this area. Will the Grizzly bears be a problem in area 56 November to December hunt? Do you need to get 5 plus miles off the roads to get into bigger bulls? Do you need to hire a guide for this unit to have a good chance at big bulls? If you had max non residents points would you put in for this unit? What unit would you put in for with max non resident points?

I am, but have a max point friend looking at this hunt. It seems like it might be a tough hunt.

Just take him where you go! You seem to kill nice animals every year.

There is a member here who might chime in who hunted it, but from my knowledge....If you dont have horses I sure wouldnt even consider it. . Guided would easily lead to good chances for a nice bull, if the weather pushes the elk where they need to be. If you have horses and time to hunt when storms hit it is a great tag. . there was 14% draw odd in the max point special last year, and 3% draw for max point normal....So if he puts in, he still needs to find the lucky horseshoe
