New Record Buck Southern Utah on public ground.

What are you guy's doing up this late? Does everyone on this site work at a power plant or for law enforcement?

When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.

Right on 77...LOL!! Just try to take it easy on us sparky's headed home after keeping the light's on for ya all night. Don't know how many times I've been pulled over after a night shift because I drove past a bar on the way home at 1:30am. Do you work for city, county or state? Kilowatt has to work for Pacific Corp doesn't he? My guess is a Control-room Op!
Have a good Night Rugarm77

are we talking about a live buck or one that has already been shot? My dads friend shot a buck on public land that will give the state record typical a run for it's money but will most likely be #2. Haven't seen him post a picture of it yet anywhere, I'll see if he doesn't mind and I might do it for him.

"dead? alive? head caught in the fence with a utard trying to help it out...let us know.....n00bz"

...and pic's would be nice :)

Typical or Non? I met a guy last weekend still grinning from ear to ear that had killed a huge typical opening morning. I'm not sure what the current state record is for a typical, but he was told it should net over 200" after the drying period. The only pics he had with him were on his cell phone so it was hard to tell for sure--other than it had a lot of bone!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-09 AT 10:18PM (MST)[p]What does the buck score? The UT state record for typical with archery equipment is 204 6/8. The #2 is 202 4/8. Would love to know the score!!

I think that score for the number one is a little off, the world record pope and young scores 203 1/8 shot outta colorado back in 79.

This is the buck I got a picture of,i think it's the one you are reffering to. Don't know the story yet ? Anybody know the real story ?

bhw5757 was it shot by Clin or Link's son? Sounds like an awsome buck. Congrats to the hunter.

"If your into hunting to make $, then..."

I see your point but i'm not sure i totally agree. I'm definetely not into hunting for any type of compensation other than the rewarding feeling my friends and i get when we take an extra good animal. We are guys that love the hunt and because we've, between us, taken so many nice animals thru the years, we now pretty much only hunt/shoot the better class of bucks.

That said, if by chance, luck, or skills, one of us did happen to take a true monster buck and there was a good chance to make some good coin off our efforts, why not accept it?

Joey

Yes I am the lucky one who shot the #2 buck. Thanks for the compliment. I know the the world record was shot in '79 in CO. That is a hard horn buck. they kick out any buck in the velvet and the 204 buck is in Velvet. I have seen the buck first hand and it is huge. It will never get recognized as the world record though due to the velvet.
