Unit 41 Idaho deer HELP!!!

My 12 year old boy has drawn a unit 41 deer tag in Idaho. I was out in the vast land of sage brush all weekend and I need help. We have travled most of the unit and have seen some great game but we have not found many deer. Infact we have only seen 30-40 deer and a only a few small bucks. I was in hopes of finding him a nice one to start off his hunting career. If you know the area and can give us some direction about the hunt we would be thankfull.

congrads on his tag draw but not an easy unit to hunt there hasnt been any snow up high to move anything your way..I was down in 40 saturday & we saw 2 dead bucks both around 24" the game warden said he had checked 2 bucks off the cow creek side & neither was over 24"..said everyone is seeing deer but nothing big..have u tried down around shofly or big & little jacks creek area??? also over towards far end near the 41/42 border lots of big juniper basins might be worth looking at might also wait & see what the last week brings in the form of weather... good luck
