Only possible with a Henry Mt. tag in hand. Even then I might really struggle with it.

I know a lot of people that think 180 is 200 and 160 is 180 so it is in the eyes of the beholder. I don't pass either, ever.

That would depend on where you were hunting and what was in the area. Even if I had a 200" buck scouted and I came across a 190s net 4 point I would have to put a hurt on the 4 point. A true 190" net typical would be extremely hard to pass.

True story my uncle did saturday we were huning in 61 and had a 190 class buck within range both me and his guide said that he was crazy but he did. he said 200 or bust and he passed he is crazy and passed on sevral other nice buck i left today so i hope he kills the pig we saw two days later.

I'm sure there are those who hunt for inches more than for the love of the hunt itself, and would pass for the larger animal. Good for them if that is what pulls thier chain. Frankly, I don't much like the direction big game hunting has gone, with inches and money doing all the talking. Oh well, such is human nature I guess.
I choose to kill the animal I am hunting for whatever reason at the time, and it has rarely been due to the inch count on its head, but hey....we're all different I guess.

200 Is a goal and those who seek it. Most icluding me would not pass on a 190 class buck but if you have the will power and like ute said the tag/area go for it. Set a goal to me it is like saying im going to hunt the bookcliffs and not shoot anything under 180. And than passing until i reach that goal. Some tags take 10+ yrs to draw and when you get it you set a goal and go for it.

That would be less than 3/8 inch per scorable.....on a typical 4x4.....point length-mass-width ect....

I gotta agree if I had the opportunity to hunt like Ute can I would but having hunted public land for a lot of years and hard and only killing a 175 typical and a 195 gross non typical if I was suddenly able to do it I would not be bragging about the bucks I kill because its beyond an apples to oranges comparison.
That being said I don't think I have ever seen where Ute has seriously bragged about what he's killing it just comes across that way at times.

In all honestly, I can say I believe him when it comes to passing up 190 bucks. One example was when he passed up on his Dad's deer, which grossed over 230.

During our conversations not only did he share his opinions in regards to hunting, he also asked a lot of questions and was completely open to other ideas,thoughts and suggestions. Frankly, he is one of the more honest guys, when it comes to hunting. Ute, it was good meeting you.

I have read enough of his replies and posts to realize he is probably telling the truth. Ute is fortunate enough to be able to hunt areas and dates that allows this. Good for him that must pretty nice. I am like the majority of hunters that probably wouldn't hesitate to pass on a 190 buck.

There arent that many people that can tell the difference between a 190 deer and a 200 inch deer. If you think about it, on a typical 4 point, its only a difference of 1 inch per tine and change! Unless you have spent alot of time looking at some really big deer most will never know the difference untill it gets taped out.

I have a buck that is in the high 170's and I know what he looks like and if I ever see one even close to mine I'm pulling the trigger and measuring later.. besides I wouldn't know a 180 buck from a 200 buck.

Nice buck utehunter. You are fortunate to have your situation, but you are also of the mindset of a real trophy hunter. Even in your situation very, very few guys will hold out for quality bucks. I'm not brown nosing, I'm just stating fact. Anyone that can consistently kill big bucks is not just lucky.
Holding out for 200"+ bucks seems insane, but some guys have seen and killed enough big bucks to where their mindset changes. They become true trophy hunters who don't have a problem going home without killing, yet, they still have a great love of hunting, and enjoy just being out chasing deer.
I personally don't hold out for a certain inch range, but instead hold for a buck with great features like deep forks, width, and mass....Oh I love MASS!!!!! My .02

Ute is out there every day.Yes he gets to hunt these bucks in prime time. But he has a tag too.Thats great.
If he had a general season Utah tag he wouldn't pass on those
bucks.
The Ute and the Jic manage thier deer herds way better than any state agency does.
I just wish i could pass on bucks like that much less see one.lol

Passed a 190+ on the third morning of a nine day hunt last year in Nv.221-223 late.Trying for a 200+.He was the biggest I saw.Killed a 170 class on the last day.I will never do that again!Dumba$$!!

ute hunter passed on one that was way over 200 and another 197-200 inch typical. he is gonna wait until the snow gets 2 feet deeper and they are only 1/2 a mile from town. we need a native american section so we can have a real kick -a -poo brag section. my grandma could kill great bucks on those tags. jealous ,yes i am .

I'm a white guy and some years I have indeed passed on 190 bucks holding out for a giant. Some of you just need to start hunting better areas. 
I don't know how long Utehunter's season is, but mine is over 3 months long and I can buy 3 over the counter tags a year.

i hunt with utehunter all the time... we pass 195-210" deer because we are looking for big bucks with huge frames and lots of extras. You cant kill a monster if you shoot the first nice deer you see. If it aint 220+ it aint die'n
It is amazing what can happen to a big buck in one year. I got some pics of this guy last year and he just showed up and damn did he sprout. I got 6-8 pics of him but it was just to dark for clarity.
Last year I called him catch 22 cause I thought he had 22 this year he may be catch 30- further research to follow! I watched him stoink a doe about 10 times so he is performing a valuable public service to the best of his ability.
