Winter is long here in Idaho Falls. I don't mind cold and snow but when I lived in Washington it was a short winter- much better. I visited Arizona alot- too hot. I lived in Maryland and didn't like the humidity. The landscape was pretty but the east coast is overpopulated.
Somewhere a short distance from the coast in Oregon would be nice- avoid the fog but live on a steelhead stream. I lived in washington so long I dedicated myself to be a pro steelheader and quit hunting. Moved to Utah and quit fishing for the most part and started hunting again.
Lewiston Idaho is great- you have access to everything from sturgeon, steelhead, salmon, muleys, whitetail, elk, bear, sheep. And the rivers are great to play on. Also at 700' ele the weather is good.
