Horn Growth?

So I have 3 week before my Archery hunt starts. I have done my scouting and found some good bucks. My question is, how much more horn growth we I see in the next 3 weeks? will I get a couple more inches on each tine or just a couple more inches overall.

Varies within region and individual buck. Most bucks I've seen in last week look to be about done growing already by looking at the ends of their antler tips. (bulbous vs. tapered thin)

Yoo will see ZERO horn growth on mule deer between then and now. Antler growth however, that's a different story... ;-) (Just giving you a hard time!)

I would say most bucks will only grow a couple more inches overall between now and then. There may be a couple that grow surprisingly in a short amount of time but that is usually seen on the front end of the growth period rather than the back end. Some of the biologists debate the influences of feed and water on antler growth late in the season, but most will see it is extremely important. If they are in good feed and water, generally they will keep growing, but if not they could stop altogether and top out.

Thanks for the ribbing. I figured after I posted that someone was going to give me a bad time about it. LOL

I know most deer wont start rubbing the velvet off till late Aug. Do the horns continue to grow till they rub the velvet off of is horn growth done long before they rub?

Just trying to judge how much bigger the bucks I have been seening while I have been scouting will get.

We have seen several bucks hit a growth spurt in the last week, turned several bucks we figured would go 160 into legitimate 170 class bucks. Including one we feel will top 190 now.
