Thanks for the replies..just razzing people....I hunted here in Wyoming in region G & H a total of only 5 different days since the weather was so hot a dry until just the last week...this was the best buck I saw all season..I passed a little smaller buck earlier in the morning that was a 4 point with a kicker and maybe 24 inches wide..and I was hoping I didn't screw up....I started finally pooping out after about 3 1/2 miles and then the low cloud cover moved in and couldn't see 30 yards..started heading back to the pick=up and ran into this guy walking only about 20 yards from me right out in that open ground..
The wife and I packed him out yesterday and the new horse did just fine...
The rifle was a little over-kill on this one...it's Remington 700
in 8mm Mag that I bought up in Alaska in 1978..packed it that day because I was hunting in some more open long range country...
Since it snowed that day and yesterday and today..the deer are really starting to move around..of course today is the last day
of the season around here...and at 62 I'm glad its over..HEHEHE
I think he 's a cool buck! I'd a shot him too! Big nasty three points are good. As long as he is mature with some mass or some other features that make yer eyes pop, they are respectable in my book. Congrats, nice pics too with fog.
