NO UNIT 2 TAG

Struck out for unit 2 for deer and elk ,again! But did pluck my third choice hunts for both deer and elk. Bow huntin unit 38 for deer and smoke pole for cow elk up on Mt. Taylor. No antelope or ibex tags , your welcome cookie2....Anybody else find out where your headed or not?

I'm not, just found out a buddy drew 2b late hunt! Still waiting on the pops and wife. Congrats tho!!!

2nd choice 2b late hunt deer. They taking me off suicide watch at work now. Been on this hunt 3 times in the past four years and finaly I got a tag for myself. No elk no antelope.

Thanks for the congrats on my luck , unit 38 is a real fun unit with lots of deer to hunt. Never killed a velvet muley and this hunt I can hunt in Sept and if I don't kille a buck I get to go back in January! Thats a hard deal to beat eh...

Both hunts will be DIY...I plan to scout first Sept. and hunt the second hunt for elk...any info on camping/lodging/drop camp, and hunting deer or elk in 16c would be great?

I feel for you guys .....really!
I only put in for New Mex for the 1st time and did not even think I did right!.. BUT..I've always been lucky on the draw!(you guys would crap if ya really knew how lucky.)
so I drew my 2nd choice(still no CC hit) and I am thinking at first wtf did I draw because site was down(I could not remember) and so I drew unit 2B (oct 27-31). So now I will read every thing you guys say about hunting it. scouting may be useless until labor day unless I want to sight see...and sweat!
after this hunt I hunt just north in C0 for another week the home to Bay area in Ca. So what ever you guys can offer is a great help.

Coues, I have never hunted them before. I just moved down here last year from Utah, so I am hoping my first whitetail hunt will be a good one. I need to plan a few scouting trips as I have never even been out that way before. But I can think of a lot worse things to have to do.

if i remember correctly that early hunt in 2 is very hard, just resident deer, i think that the late hunt is the one to have, when the big boys migrate in for the RUT and snow pushes them in. i could be wrong though, sounds like a fun hunt though.
