AZGFD Decision

It is my opinion that one AZ non resident tag issued is one too many.

Sincerely,

Mark (AZ Native)

Do I sense some bitterness?

P.S. If I was in your shoes I would be chapped too. I just couldn't resist being a booty.

I'm sorry, but I just don't like someone I don't know crapping in my backyard and eating all the groceries.

I think there is some misdirected hostility afoot. I understand the residents feelings on this situation but probably close to 100% of the nonresidents didn't have a darn thing to do with this. Am I expected to not apply out of guilt? I think the residents should have a better chance of drawing than everyone else but I am going to apply. I am sorry the residents have to battle this sort of thing, but as a nonresident applicant, I am getting mighty tired of being made to feel like some egg sucking dog just because I want to experience an Arizona hunt.

Pretty funny, Psycho. I don't blame you for being mad, but look at it realistically. Don't you ever want to hunt in Alaska, or Africa, or anywhere but your backyard? There are so many places I want to go and experience, and I do every chance I get. And AZ is one of them. By the way, I crapped at my Aunt's house in Globe while I was coues hunitng.:) I held it until I got out of your backyard.

What actually constitutes a "native"? Are you native american? Or are you one of those people that think since your family has lived in the state for two or three generations then you're a "native"?

LAST EDITED ON Jul-20-04 AT 03:21PM (MST)[p]I am an AZ resident and i feel my tag was taken because of this stupid court ruling, so why dosent the stupid judge who did this make it apply for every state. The state is and individual in the alot of the aspects of law right so why wouldnt that apply to game laws. Residents pay state taxes for whatever reasons if it be to help wildlife or whatever. So now wouldnt it make sense instead of buying a license for every different state since non res. have just as equal odds now at getting drawn there should be a U.S. license and U.S. Tags Thats fair. Oh and to all the non res. people who put in for the az strip and the kaibab i am gonna make those units my first and second choice next year just so if i get drawn there one less non resident wont be here, and i have never hunted in those units before but now if i get dranw there i plan to.

Bambistew,

I'm native as it gets. My blood is Mexican/Apache. My family has a few more than two or three generations here in AZ.

Doakes,

I am bitter. It really sucks living in AZ and not being able to hunt here.

Psychozar,

I understand the thing about having your backyard crapped in. You know your water comes from here in Colorado and, well, it passes through more than one sewage treatment plant before it gets to you. Your Water is Golden in Arizona.

Just messin' with you.

BeanMan

You could always move somewhere else and get drawn yearly......:) Sorry couldn't resist. Buck up psyc, you'll get drawn soon and shoot a monster.

BOHNTR )))------------->

NM Taxi,

I don't have to go to Alaska or anywhere else, I live in ARIZONA. I would trade all of those trips to get drawn in my home state.

Bean Man,

What water? Have you seen the water level in our major lakes? I'm talking like 10%.

Bohntr,

Thanks for the support. Perhaps I may find that monster Utah or New Mexico way. The grass looks way greener on that side of the fence. Do you suppose they have room for just one more non-resident hunter?

So far i have taken a crap in AZ,NM,CA,Co,AK, and TX. I plan to crap in MT too this year, gonna make it special for Mtmiller by eating corn and peanuts. Its my goal to crap in every state that has big game. I am thinking of getting those stickers that the RV camper guys use to use as a display on my bow case to show what states i have crapped in. Yours truely, Schmalts, full of crap all the time..

Wow, a multi-state crap! i always wanted to do that. Better drag me back fast as i am a power dumper.

I research and apply all over the US (notice I said united states, same coutry we are all in right?). By far AZ hates out of state hunters far more then anywhere else. Where I would normally get help and advice elsewhere, I get critisim in AZ.

You guys are pissed off and angry and NR, until now, got very few of your tags and affected your odds very little. I am willing to bet that AZ residents actually buy way more tags in other states then there state gives away to NR.

"I don't have to go to Alaska or anywhere else, I live in ARIZONA. I would trade all of those trips to get drawn in my home state."
It seems if you like to hunt, you would have to go somewhere else :). It's a big world out there Psycho. You should try to experience it sometime.

I dont hate NR at all, I dont think really anyone does, we are just frustrated as HE!! right now. We arent blaming non res either don't get us wrong. But if your west of the big river and have alot of public land your state is next and you will feel what were feeling now, It's already begun for MT, WY and Nevada. No more 1000.00 Elk tag fees etc. So I guess we all gott go back to being one big happy family.
I think we oughta have a nation wide draw system for every state. Meaning All tags are equal even in the eastern states. Mayeb all the deer tags there can be drawn by western hunters so on and so forth. I think that is fair i mean it's the fairest thing i can think of, and we can get the feds to manage our nations wildlife instead of a state agency. The we won't need to have associations like RMEF, DU and so on because we can use federal money. What you guys think? I give info to non residents all the time, it just sucks taht are herds will suffer this year because of a lack of initiative on behalf of our G&F here in AZ.
Oh and as far as the water comin from Colorado, yeah it's golden but so is the water in Mexico. Ill just keep drinkin my Coors thanks. LOL

Is there currently a database where the states share info such as SS #'s etc.. to insure that people aren't applying as residents in more than one state?

Good question, But i bet you have at least a few doing it. I have heard all kinds of stories of this thing happening. Got a twin brother that dont hunt? thats good for extra chances in any state HUH??
Just like a lot of guys putting in for their old lady that wants nothing to do with hunting a bull elk, but will go to see the grand canyon.... I am sure it happens, but what can a guy do.
