My dad has a Boulder Muzzle hunt, his last elk hunt,
probably his last hunt period.

I'm interested in getting in touch with anyone who will
down there this fall during the archery or rifle hunts.
We'd be satisfied with the 380 and 390 leftover bulls
after the first two hunts are done.
Seriously, we just want a good hunt when they are bugling and
the quakies are yellow, on a unit that is
not so crowded. That's why he has a Muzzle tag and
not a late season tag.

Congrats on the tag, your dad should have a fun hunt. Don't count on there being no crowds though, the deer ML hunt is going on at the same time. I will be down there on the deer ML and possibly the Archery deer. Good luck on the hunt, it will be a great time!!

I was down there last fall. The elk really quieted down during the MZ hunt compared to early rifle hunt. It was night and day difference between mid-Sept. and the MZ hunt. During the MZ hunt, if your dad really wants to kill a bull I wouldn't pass a 330-340 bull. Guys that passed bulls were kicking themsleves later when the the bulls quieted down and dissapeared into the dark timber. It got very tough, and many MZ deer hunters/atv riders to contend with. But, some nice bulls still around, just had to go into hellholes to find them.

Good Luck with your hunt!! I hope the bulls bugle more for you guys than they did last fall.

I will second that, I was down there last year around the end of September and hunters in alot of places. i would not pass on a 330-350 bull, people seemt to think that there are 380-390 bulls on every corner, to find them you will need to put a lot of time in, or get very lucky.
