What do you think of this deer. This is the deer I chased around all during archery season and finally had to settle on getting him with my rifle.

Wyobowhunt, That's a great deer! You should be proud to have harvested a deer like that by any means. I hope that I get the opportunity to shoot a deer like that just once in my life. They just don't grow'em like that in Washington.

Just wanted to give a little information on this deer, he has 10 points on his right side and has 8 points on his left side. My friend who does a heck of a job at scoring, scored him at 206 gross. I am very happy with this deer because i spent so much time trying to get him with my bow and at the same time I fill a little sad that I was not able to get this buck with my bow. He was just to smart for me to get with the bow. Will try to develop field photos of him this week.

Great buck congratulations!
Definitely nothing wrong with taking that deer.
Thanks for sharing.
Best,
Jerry

wbh....nice job, congratulations...very nice buck...thanks for sharing the pics

What unit were u hunting?? It would be nice to go back for seconds with a rifle if unsucsessful with a bow. Way to function. Great buck.

What do I think? I'm jealous, and not because you harvested a nice buck, which it is by the way, but because you get to hunt both seasons. I can only imagine the quality of animals I could take if that were the case here in Washington. Congrats on the hunt, you should be proud of that one................rf

Thnaks guys, the best part of it is there is still one non typicalbigger than this one and a typical in the 190-200 class on the ranch and the season closed yesterday. I just hope he grows the same horns again next year so I can tag him with my bow. Yes it is really nice to be able to hunt with my bow for $10 more and then if not successful be able to hunt with my rifle. This makes it a lot easier not to shoot 145-150 deer with the bow when I was trying to get close to this one. This is a southeast Wyoming buck, but that is about all the information I will give on the location.

Leaving to take best friend who helped get this deer elk hunting and brother in-law deer/elk hunting tomorrow so the field photos will have to wait until monday. I will probally have more fun without a tag than I would if I still had one. Finding the game to me is the high point and the killing is the low part because then it is over and I have to go home or find someone else to help get an animal.

Super buck Tory. I'm glad you got him. Post the pics of your buddy's buck if you have them, too. Does this mean I'm getting back the big shed mount so you'll have room to put this one on your wall? - LOL!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-27-04 AT 04:09PM (MST)[p]Tory,

Let me start by saying; AWESOME DEER!

I saw the picture of you and your deer and you looked really familar, then after a couple days it hit me. You use to be a RA in the McIntyre Hall dorms at the University of Wyoming, on the fifth floor, right? I could not figure out how to send a private message so i figured this would have to do. I was on that floor my freshman year, that would have been about six or seven years ago, 97'-98' school year. I will leave you in suspense for a couple days, let you try to remember that year. I will give you a hint though, my roommates name was Allan. Does that name ring a bell, or not. anyways i thougth i would say whats up and see how things are going for you, you should have graduated by now, right! Looks like you have had a super year, as far as hunting is concerned. I just back from a two week deer hunt myself! I drew a permit north of my hometown, Rawlins! i have been putting in for this area for about 12 years and finally drew this year. Needless to say, out of five permits we managed to tag all five deer. Nothing that compares to your deer, but a couple of us killed good deer. All five were 4 pts. so we definetly beat the odds.

Wyomingben-I know for a FACT it was shot close to Wheatland, Cheyenne, Laramie or Rawlins ;)
