Really big buck pics

Last week I was shopping at the newest Cabelas store and took these pictures in their mule deer display. I know they are probably reproduction mounts but the size of these deer is incredible to me. I have been hunting mule deer since 1997 and have never seen anything remotely similar in size to these bucks. If I ever did see anything this big I would be in deer heaven for sure.

I will probably never have a chance to take anything this big and I was thinking that there may be others out there who have never seen the world record mule deer bucks so I thought I would post these pics. These are life size full body mounts which really show the size of their racks. They look more like small elk. The first two pics show the # 1 B&C buck. The third one is of the # 1 P&Y buck. You may not be able to read the wording on the plaques below the deer but I think both were taken in Colorado.

Hunting season has been over for a few weeks now and looking at these mounts really got me fired up so I have been thinking about getting the applications in the mail. There has to be a big buck with my name on it out there somewhere.

Nice photos. Thanks for posting. I bet it is very impressive to see those bucks up close, in person.

I think I read that Cabelas is opening a store in Utah this fall.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-11-05 AT 09:46PM (MST)[p]I recentley spent a week hunting with the guy that sold all those racks to Cabela's.
He spent 30 years collecting and buying the biggest bucks in the world.
He still has a mind numbing collection of absoloutley incredible racks and sheds.
My mind is still reeling!

The #1 BC buck in first 2 pics was taken in Dolores County near Cortez Colorado. I know cuz like hornaddiction, I grew up there as well! Too bad there aren't too many more like him!

The number 1 buck is definitely Doug Burris's trophy taken in Dolores County Colorado in 1972.

I have to go there! That is too cool looking!

HH, was that Don Schaufler you were talking about or someone else?
