Don't know him. The Petrified Forest and Meteor Crater are right where I grew up. I love that country.

The area in the Superstition Mts. where they were hiking is the lower part of hunting unit 24B that just had a huge wildfire last month. It was called the Woodbury Fire and burned about 120K acres of prime wildlife habitat in and around the Superstition Wilderness. It is noted for big desert sheep.
