Anyone have one? What's your thoughts on them? I'm thinking of getting one to pull behind the jeep.

They are spendy...that's why I'm asking, what's to like about them?
My camp trailer isn't a toy hauler. I don't like to pull it in to some of the places I hunt. If I have the jeep and the 4wheelers in camp I've killed two birds with one stone.
If you own one or have owned one, what's the good and bad with them?

I have a buddy with one. They can get in most anyplace a sane person would take a Jeep. (Not talking hardcore, insane Jeep crawling!) They do carry your ATV well, and give you a place to sleep off the ground. Not quite all the comforts of a regular travel trailer (no microwave, etc.) but pretty decent. It is a canvas trailer. You do have to take care of the canvas (dry it out before long term storage, etc.
I think the nicest thing about them is the remote places you can get your quad and trailer. Beats a tent and sleeping on the ground any day.

OK HorseCreek!

The Bad:

People Haul Wheelers to the Mountains with them to Abuse Mother Earth!:D

The Good:

If you get Snowed in/Weathered in you don't have to worry about getting that 80K Toy Hauler off the Hill!:D

LAST EDITED ON Apr-28-14 AT 07:21AM (MST)[p]I too, have several friends with one. I have even been with, when camping. They are roomy, even for big guys. The positives are pretty evident. The main negatives, as far as I can see: They have some pinch spots that wear holes in the canvas, when folded up. They seem like kind of a pain to put up and take down. I wonder just how long the material will hold up. Its a neat idea, but a very expensive tent on wheels. It seems to me, that you could pull a small trailer with all your gear, (tent included) for a lot less money.

Bess, I fully intend to pull the trailer thru closed roads and trails. Thats how I roll! ?

Thanks for the input guys

You ever seen the JackInJill Trailer?

I did like the trailer, and the tent. It does have enough room for a queen air mattress if you buy the extra bed rails. It will go damn near anywhere. My reason for selling is that i did not like loading/ unloading or hauling my Rhino on it. I never loaded up my wheelers, cause i really havent used em since i bought my Rhino back in '07. U can get lucky on used ones once in a while.

I guess I gotta chime in with my nickels worth. I own two of them! Years ago they came out with a mini version. I got one of those, but the only problem was it was just to small to be comfy for more than one for more than a day or two. I got the full size one a couple years ago, tried to sell the little guy, but people wanted me to donate it to them. It's pretty handy, nice to pull behind my 4 banger Tacoma for a quick trip on the cheap. I have had it for ten years, and no holes or wear at all. It's been around the block a time or two, but I am always careful to fold it up correctly and watch the pinch points. The big one is really nice for a long time in back country where I do not like to take my regular camp trailer. No worries if roads get slimy, its light and easy pulling. And beats sleeping on the ground in a tent 7 ways to Sunday. But I'm no young shoat anymore, so anything with a soft bed is a winner with me!
They are pricy, but compared to a lot of what's out there, they are much better built for yer hard earned cash.

Hey Horsecreek, just some food for thought!

I have been looking at them as well, but I just can't bring myself to shell out that kind of coin for a "Tent on Wheels".

I have a buddy that has recently purchased an enclosed trailer for $6,500 brand new, custom made for him (added a storage unit for a deep cycle battery and a fuel door with custom height to fit his Razor). He is adding some fold up beds, a vanity with a water pump, some cabinets and a small porta-potty with some LED lighting on the inside and adding propane tanks to the front so he can run a Buddy Heater and a stove.

He figures he will be into it total about $8,000.

He will have one heck of a nice unit for not too much more than a Jumping Jack and it will be a great place to store his machines as well.

I am thinking this is a pretty slick way to go. Poor man's version of a Toy Hauler :)

Get a Used enclosed trailer 7x12 or 6 x 12 with a couple fold down cots/beds( toyhauler type)

Propane heating and cooking. Gen/Battery to run lights. Get fancy and put a awning off one side to park under or cook.

FLIP the axles to get more clearance and you will like it a lot better and maybe still have some coin in your pocket for ammo.

The cost isn't really the main issue. I'm mostly looking for something I can pull with the jeep into some places I don't wanna take the family trailer and more importantly my truck. I've looked at a few enclosed custom built trailers. They were great but a bit more than what I want to pull with the jeep.
Thanks for the input

Costco has a cheaper version of the Jumping jack trailer on sale. The tent looks a little lighter. Here is the add if it helps .

LAST EDITED ON May-06-14 AT 04:18PM (MST)[p]I just picked up a new Four Wheel Camper for my Dodge 2500. I tow my quad on a trailer then. The camper is nice because it has everything except a microwave or oven. It has a heater, stove, sink, 26 gallons of water storage, outdoor shower, dual batteries, a refrig (with freezer) and a solar panel that will power everything and recharge the batteries. They're not cheap, but for me it's perfect for hunting trips and trips with the family.
