What channel was it on?

Deerlove: I really would like to see what happened. I bet if he killed one, he is still packing it out......LOL.....he should never have tried to do it by himself, a buff is alot of meat to get back by one person regardless if they are 7' tall and built like Shrek........ Allen Taylor......

I thought his hunt was a little later than this. He sure has been quiet. Hasn't even been posting over on the bowsite about his success in Illinois in a while. Thought for sure he'd come out with all the anti-USO talk going around. Maybe he's guiding for George. Maybe the buff got him.

I hope the buff got him. Probably like a lot of people on that hunt that never even see a buff. We had seven people pack mine out and that was not too many. For some reason he thought he was going to shoot it in the middle of the road or at least where he could get a 4-wheeler. That does happen from time to time, but is the exception and not the rule. I'm sure we've heard the last from Zim around here. Cass has been pretty quiet also, he must be putting the finishing touches on his video. Or maybe he's filming Zim.

Maybe Cass IS ZIM.

Anyone ever seen them in the same room?

Regardless, ZIM (CASS) is going to be a bred by the biggest Buff in Utah.

That wont do much for the gene pool. I can hear it now. Just grab it by the horns and hold it down for me Cass. O.K. let me put my camera on my tripod first. Dangit my battery just died. I guess we wont be able to show all the guys. Happens to me every time.

Dang batteries anyway....
I seen a couple of guys come thru town the other day that could have been from a "zim" and a buffalo....Man were they sorry looking.... Couldn't have been any worse though than if the batteries had been good!!! LOL
I think Zim's hunt starts the latter part of November...And if he goes it alone, will probably end the latter part of January!!..

A bad day hunting is better than a Good Day at Work!!

There's probably not much difference between buffalo and Indiana women anyways.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-14-04 AT 04:36PM (MST)[p]A friend of mine invited me along "to film" his yearling buffalo hunt on a ranch in Arziona that he'd drawn a tag for this fall. He bagged the young buffalo bull with one well placed shot, all captured on film. Ok, now what do we do with this huge, heavy, can't-hardly-budge-it-to-take-a-photo piece of buff beef?

We had three pickups, 6 men and a kid, a bucket full of knives and it took all of that to get the job done. If Zim is really going to pull it off all by his lonesome I wish him well and hope he can handle it. As a thought though, makes you wonder why a guy can't or didn't find at least one buddy to tag along and experience the hunt with him?

I think the hunt was late nov. I told him I would tag along. I havent heard for a long time from him. I think all the talk propably wore him out. It took all the adventure out of it. There was no anticipation left. I think he seen and heard every possible situation. Probably talked himself out of going. Or went down there and hit some of that blue clay and slid off the Mountain. We probably wont hear from him. He made himself out to be such a stud muffin hunter. Probably tough to live up to. Did anyone tell him there was lions down there.
In any event if anyone hears i want to know. Good luck Zim

MisterBaitn...watch the generalizations, please. Most of the women that don't live in trailers look pretty normal, for your information.

ZIM don't have no buddys!

Hoosierbuffalo, I mean Hoosierbuck,
I've known some mighty fine buffaloes in my day and not one of them lived in a trailer. So no offense meant to your Indiana women.

Zim's hunt starts this Sat. There is alot of snow down there. All the buff will be pushed out on cave flats a swap mesa. Trade your ATV for a couple pack mules zim! Your in for a real treat.

Hey rutnbuck
Did you tell Zim how "YOUR" done-it-alone buff hunt went?
Shot the buff got the ass headed down hill- tied off the one hind leg to a cedar tree- cut it open-pulled out the guts-remeber
all is ok 'till ya reached up inside to cut the wind pipe.you
jerked back on it and your tie off let go-the gut pile and buff
slid down on ya with your head going down hill. How did ya SWIM out of that one? --Buff almost won that one and he was dead!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-16-04 AT 08:57PM (MST)[p]Hey Rimrock. What does that have to do with Zim. And besides that. Till now I use to have a really nice reputation as a macho hunter like Polarbear.

Didn't know I was so popular! Thanks for all the attention. I have been extremely busy chasing and bagging midwest whitetails. Was able to take my first Pope & Young buck. No time to chit chat on forums. How is it you guys aren't out hunting something this time of year? Seems some of you have way too much time on your hands. Get out and hunt!

My bison hunt starts this weekend. Not exactly sure when I will be leaving. I have 3-4 hunting buddies that would be accompanying me if it weren't for the 1,400 mile distance. That's always a problem. Goes with the territory. I could make excuses and not participate, or I could go out and live life. I choose to go for it.

Hope you are all having a great hunting season! :)

I reckon the reason we are not hunting we already filled out tags in a couple states. And it is not miserable enough yet for geese and ducks. We like it muddy and cold. Slick roads, deep mud, short days, and alot of snow, frozen water and windy. Not to mention we don't have a buff tag. And after reading the post here I don't know anyone that would want one. lol Hey if you need some help let me know. You are still welcome to stop by.

Zim,
I'm not out hunting because I can't draw a tag in my own state where I've lived my whole fricken life, that's why! And if George and USO and a few other people have their way I'll never stand a chance of ever hunting it again. Hope you enjoy your nonres bison hunt because if things continue as they are no one but the rich will ever hunt them again.

Please post details if you live to tell the story.

Long live the bison!!!

Give them buff hell Ken!! Give me a call if ya get in a jam, I'll be back from Idaho monday nite unless I tag out early. Be safe, weather looks cold but fairly dry for the first few days of your hunt dates.

I was down that way yesterday. Looks like Zim is up to his arse in mud and snow! Hope your finding the buff zim.........

I talked to some guys who have been down there quite a bit lately and they say getting around is pretty rough!! Lot of snow up high, and a lot of mud everywhere else...Said there was a foot of new snow on Saturday morning...that is when I believe Zim's hunt started...they said that they had talked to a couple of hunters who had been down there for the whole hunt (first buffalo hunt) and they hadn't filled their tags as of Friday. Sounds pretty bleak to me... Maybe Zim will find one along the road trying to get away from the snow!!!! (probably just his luck!)..

Kewl weather
I had the same type weather on my Buff hunt!!!! Walk in the park. That was the year we slid off the road and over a cliff. We spent 3 days hanging from a 100 foot cliff in the truck. Not a problem. The buff will come
Rut

Rut, sounds like a hunt to remember!!
It was a balmy 65 degrees on my buff hunt. Just short sleeves and working on the tan....
