I wasn’t aware I was supposed to show any photos on monstermuleys. Your photo puzzled me for a bit, I’ve never seen an elk bloated up like that or any animal or human for that matter just an hour after death. Interesting.
I don’t see the bloat there, on any of them but that first elk. Obviously I hurt your feelings. I’ve been hunting near 50 years now, I’ve got a couple of pictures and mounts and freezers with a steak or two in them but I’ve only come across bloated animals like that that were left overnight. Nothing wrong with that, in freezing temperatures that meat is still good. Looks like northern NM elk. Good luck to you on this years hunts.
I'm pretty seasoned Hunter I would never post anything unethical on here he went 20 yards sat down and died. Was strange the way he layed down. Was record breaking hot day in the valley so I was stressed but I lost zero meat. Good luck this fall. fyi hunted elk with my brother in nm 13 last fall n struggled bad. Saw one mature bull in 5 days.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, it got dark while I was tracking an elk I had shot one year. I got on his trail again the next morning and found him about a half mile from where I shot him. He was bloated, your picture just reminded me of that hunt. No offense sir, I do not doubt that you know what you’re doing in the field. Those are some great looking animals you guys have harvested.
