I think I'll snatch up a bear tag along with my deer tag for D-Zone. Anyone have luck with distress calls in CA for bears? If so, should I try any time during the fall or later near the time they go into hibernation?

NR Guided deer hunts... Guide services... Anything directly guaranteed by a government agency to any company, even a guide service, that directly results in a profit could be considered as a subsidy. NR hunters... Anyone that pays for a shortcut to success, particary in pursuite of an award...

The recent snow and cold weather will only boost the rut activity. Look for deer to begin to move south and look for most does to be accompanied by bucks. West side is definitely not off limits. Just have to find the access. BLM maps tell all. To improve your odds of finding good bucks hike...
