I will always oppose this idea solely because I know that part of Oregon does not have enough big game to warrant allowing all those OR hunters to all of a sudden get into the Idaho resident pool. No other factor would play into my thinking other than resident hunting pools.

I assume your best bet is to figure out the name of the area biologist, then using their standard email format (first.last@______) try that for direct contact. At last resort, you can become their pain in the ass and file something in writing to their PO Box and call it a Public Records Request...

With it being random, it becomes pretty simple mathematics. For every person that draws a 5% tag once every 20 years (the average), there will be a standard deviation on either side, so extreme that some in the sample will draw 3 tags in 20 years and some won’t draw in 60 years. But the fact is...

22 years = average number of years required to draw a tag with 4-5% odds. Not with 3 chances tho. That sucks!

Not in Utah if you are a new, young hunter, or you are mentoring a child or youth. They may literally never draw. In Idaho at least there is always a chance. My family went 0-9. But extended family has a deer and Antelope tag that I will be able to join.

With all the apps, let’s hope IDFG is able to secure more, and more productive private lands in the Access Yes. Maybe even a property or two that have water on them and not fields of dirt and weeds.
