I will be headed up in a week or 10 days to help my brother find a whitey, Im a little worried about the private land issue and our ability to find a buck. He hasn't scouted or done any of his homework, but seems to think we can kill on the first day of our 4 day hunt. Just thought I'd check...

Yeah, he lives in Star Valley, works at the mine. I really couldn't tell you what the head and cape...
Heres some more pics, didn't do real good at taking pictures, was a little excited and it was pretty warm out, so had to get him taken care of quickly.
This was after the first shot, when he headed up the hill.

Been wanting to post something on here for a while about my moose hunt, but I didn't really have any pics of scouting/hunting, and I have been a little disappointed in the moose activity on here, nothing to get the blood flowing.
Anyway, I drew a Wyoming moose tag, unit 26 and scouted and had...

Piper, thats about what I've decided about this area, I'm not gonna worry too much about the scouting anymore because I'm sure we will find some deer come season opener, and throughout the hunt.
Funny how this whole post turned, I was simply letting people know about the deer that I have been...
Trying to expand my Camping/Outdoor activity boundaries and I thought I would look into the Hams Fork north of Kemmerer. What kind of forest access/private lands are there? From the land survey it looks like quite a bit of private around Viva Naughton but how much farther up that road would I...

Thanks for all the replies and comments, I thought this might stir up something, but not about my sons first deer being a 'trophy'. I understand that this being his first deer, it should be about the experience and not the size of the animal, but in a way this is a family tag. Every chance...
My son drew the tag this year also and it seems we are having the same luck, sounds like to me that you found the big one though, I haven't even found one that big. Good Luck. I'm a little disappointed in the area, this will be the last time we hunt this area.
That is not what the problem is. The fact that it is so hard to draw a limited tag and that we get to hunt in a new area is great. My son is 12, hence the 'first year hunting', but he has gone with me on every hunt and camping trip since before he could walk, he knows what its like to shoot a...
