I don't know how his hunt went but I do know he didn't have great Az sunshine for most of his hunt. We had lots of hard rains, socked in fog and depending on elevation lots of snow too. I am curious how his hunt went also. GBA

Another vote for 300 FMJ's. I'd use Firenocks 150 grain stainless steel half outs inserts to get my desired FOC and added weight for brown bear. It's a great set up for Elk as well. GBA

If you would like to stay with a mechanical head NAP now makes a Killzone low KE head that I think would fit the bill. With a set up like Throphyhunters FMJ 340 arrow and weight combined with the low KE Killzone it ought to be a really good set up for you. Just a thought. GBA

I will start out by saying shoot what you hve the most confidence in be it fixed or mechnical. With that said I have killed 8 elk, all with mechnical heads. My choice of head is the Killzone. With any mechnical on elk I would recomend you shoot a total of 550 grain arrows. GBA
