I have a Pioneer 500. I got it a couple years ago. So far I haven't used it for hunting much. I've been told they are kind of top heavy and can tip over. Have you had any issues with top heavy tipping?
I have one. I have the Air Arms TX200 22cal with a vortex Diamondback tactical 6-24x50 FFP scope on it. I have shot well over 1200 Rock Chucks with it.
It's not fast. This rifle tosses a 14.66 gr pellet at 668 FPS. That doesn't put it in the magnum class.
The reasons I bought this rifle.

I got my first ML rifle 45 years ago. I wasn't really into big game hunting with one until about 1992 ish. I got a BK92 and got a couple really good bucks. Back then we could use sabots. It shot really well with it. Then idaho went traditional only for a while. No inlines no bullets, PRB only...
Well first off a guy doesn't need "max". 80 gr of pyrodex P with a 458 gr bullet will blow through most animals at any angle under 100 yards.
I have been using Lee 500 S&W bullets paper patched and sized to .501
This bullet with 80 gr by volume or 64.5 actual grains is very accurate in...
I have been using peep sights fo close to 20 years. I couldn't use a fixed sight again. If sights are not field adjustable they are worthless to me.
I take a rage on every shot. I set the sight for the shot, and hold dead on. Holding over or holding under is no way to hunt.
In the summer while camping, or fishing I carry a 45 ACP just for methsquach.
They are by far the most dangerous animal in the back country. Those who say their state doesn't have them is fooling themselves.
Idaho had regulations pre 2006 that were PRB and side lock rifles. I sat out those years. I just didn't want to hunt with a PRB. Then the F&G changed the rules to what we have today. Back then we had a rotating hunt. There were three areas we could hunt. It was open in one area then the next...
