Happened across this buck yesterday while elk hunting. I sure wish I had a better camera or better yet a tag. It's amazing to me that a buck like this still exists in a general season way over hunted unit. Sorry for the crappy pics but I'm sure you'll get the idea.

Antlers mean very little to him although after my jaw droping reaction he does know he has something special. I am just glad his dogs aint chewing on it in his front yard.

Update: He was able to take first in the local big buck contest. got himself a new rifle i believe was the prize this year. Oh and i believe the Gross score was 225" or 227"

Did anyone want to take a guess at gross score. Hint 9 measureable points per side

Honestly i couldnt be happier someone i know was able to get him. and it even makes me happier it was a young kid. as for the beam legnth one was 26+ and the other was 27+ inside spread of 27" outside 34 3/4"

Yea he showed up way skinny this year. Dry year? Rutted Hard? I'm still reasonably sure he is a younger buck so it shouldn't be an age issue. I just hope he makes it through the rest of the winter. and my buddy is able to find him this fall and wrap a tag around a 240"+ rack
