Point system for nonresident only. Just like Wyoming. Let them fill the coffers of the fish and game building points and waiting to hunt elk every 3-4 years. Keep resident OTC and random draw.

Idaho needs to go to a points system and draw only for NR, just like Wyoming does. If I want to jump across the border and hunt a general elk tag in Wyoming, it takes 4 points, so once every 5 years (no accounting for creep). Why is it ok for NR to come hunt the best units of the state for elk...

Anything near Dubois is unit 59 or maybe 59A. Birch creek drainage is 58, which is a bit of a distance from Monteview or Dubois…just saying

Used to be premium mule deer country. Elk have taken over. Low density deer numbers. I honestly don’t know why they continue a general hunt in that unit. Lots of side by sides, lots of people. Good luck

Look at that…woke up to an email with the Wyoming elk results, one day early. All I got from IDFG was an email asking me to buy super tags…maybe after the moose results?

Look at Wyoming elk…NR have to apply in January for a May drawing. Thing is they give a May 19 date for when results will be available. Not this guessing game “by early June” when some years it is as early as May 13 (2021). They want to have trust in their system? Be transparent and consistent...
