Kaibab Archery Point Creep Big Time

Kaibab archery tag. Can't believe it took this long to get the pending charge on the CC? I talked to other NRs last Saturday with pending charges fro the same tag.

Kaibab Archery Point Creep Big Time

I'm a NR applicant with seven points going in...and had all but given up hope. To my surprise, the pending charge hit my credit card this morning...July 1st. Strange turn of events....but I'll take it!

Any idea when the tags will be mailed?

Finally received my Utah LE deer tag yesterday (July 22nd). Was getting a bit concerned, so called them last week. They said all the LE tags which require completion of an orientation course get mailed later than the rest in order to give people time to complete the orientation. Rep said I would...

    Shipping to AK

I've mailed camp to remote Alaska twice...both times in boxes, not crates, and used USPS both times with no issues. Suggest shipping a month in advance if shipping Parcel Post or two weeks in advance for Priority Mail. Expected delivery dates will be shorter, but better safe than sorry IMO...

    Henry Mountains Archery Management tag

Appreciate it BrowningRage. The more I hear about the Henry Mountains, the higher the anticipation level. If it weren't for the Alaska trip, I'd spend a month up there! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Alaska....but this is my 3rd trip in eight years....and black bear don't hold a candle...

    Henry Mountains Archery Management tag

Good day. Had the good fortune to draw the non-resident archery management buck tag in the Henry Mountains. That's the good news. Bad news, I'm going to miss the first week of season due to a coastal black bear hunt in Alaska. Still, that leaves two full weeks of hunting. Typically, I would...

    Waders for moose hunt

I'll be on the Kenai in August for a boat based black bear hunt. Was told by the transporter hip boots or waders are a must have. I just can't imagine hunting all day in hip boots or chest waders? Found a product called Chota Tundra Hippies...which are a more robust version of their original...

Utah General Deer Units - Archery Specific

Well, based on the pending charge on my credit card, it appears the drought of drawing a LE Utah buck tag is over. Not going to be completely convinced until I see the actual draw results, but it appears I drew the NR archery management buck tag in the Henry Mountains!

Utah General Deer Units - Archery Specific

Appreciate the feedback! Honestly, I have been looking south primarily due to winter kill reports from the north a few years back. Understand what you are saying about the heat..especially combined with limited scouting potential. Admittedly, while I am getting better at it, glassing is...

Utah General Deer Units - Archery Specific

Living 1,500+ miles away makes it tough to get boots on the ground. As mentioned, I typically would show up a week prior to the hunt and that is the extent of my physical scouting. That makes selecting the right unit up front so critical. I realize what I'm saying makes some guys cringe at the...

Utah General Deer Units - Archery Specific

Appreciate the feedback guys. I realize nothing beats laying down some boot leather to gain intel, but the fact I live in Indiana makes that very difficult. Honestly, I'm typically hunting a new location every year. Tried pre-season scouting trips, but have learned that extending my hunt dates...
